First Visit
Brief Paperwork
Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. This generally takes about 15 minutes. Arriving 15 minutes early to your first appointment to fill out this paperwork will make your first appointment run that much more smoothely.
Consultation
Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.
History and Examination
In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you many questions related to your condition. Then, a number of specialized tests will be performed, including a complete neurological, orthopedic and chiropractic examination, testing your nerves, joints, ligaments, and muscles to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.
X-ray/MRI/CT Studies
Your specific condition may require us to order x-rays or other diagnostic radiological studies (MRI or CT scans) to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.
Second Day Report of Findings & Treatment
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will be provided with home instructions and will be scheduled for their report of findings visit. The report of findings visit will include a full explanation of your condition and if Chiropractic can help you. If Dr. Andosca believes your condition will benefit by Chiropractic care, he will outline a complete treatment plan for you at that time. This plan will include the number of visits you will need to get better and stay better for a long, long time. Your treatment may include spinal adjustments, and/or physical therapy modalities.
Home Instructions
Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, and avoidance of certain activities or positions.
Scheduling Your Report of Findings
You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up/report of findings visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days for their report of findings. A full treatment plan will be discussed at that time and the start of your care will commence on that day if Dr. Andosca is able to accept your case.
